What did you do before joining Impact Media?

I received a B. Comm Degree from NUI Galway in 1998 followed by a Higher Diploma in Marketing Practice. Before joining Impact Media, I worked as Marketing Manager for Smyths Toys for Ireland and the UK. Prior to moving to Galway, I worked in Dublin for seven years with Dixons Stores Group most recently as Trading Manager for the PC World chain and previously in other brand and category management roles across the Dixons, PC World and Currys chains.

Where are you from?

Ballina, Co. Mayo

What exactly do you do?

I work with clients on putting marketing plans together and I liaise between our creative team and clients to get those plans effectively in place.

What’s the best buzz about your job?

The variety in the job, as no day is ever the same. I enjoy developing relationships with clients across different industries and work with them to deliver effective campaigns that lead to tangible results.

What are your career highlights so far?

Developing promotional campaigns from concept through to delivery. Oh and of course moving to work and live in the great city of Galway!

What are your spare time passions?

Music – especially U2, one of a few fanatical fans in the office. We could set up our own band! Following Mayo football which can be tough! Playing golf, tag rugby, basketball and soccer (all quite badly!)

Your one secret (but non-work related) talent.

I used to be a DJ back in my college days! I can still have my arm twisted to dust down the decks to do the odd party but no country and western requests!!

What’s your favourite ad of all time?

The Aer Lingus “Enjoy your flight” campaign is excellent as it communicates simply but effectively the message of a very good service from a traditional airline at a smart price.

If you were reincarnated, who or what would you come back as?

I think I could take to the life of a pro golfer!

I wish I knew more about…

How to get Mayo to win an All Ireland!

People say I look like…

Padraig Harrington, Jimmy White quite often although I have none of their skills!

What’s your idea of perfect happiness?

5 numbers and the 2 bonus ones in the Euromillions ….ahh to dream!

What’s your dream vehicle?

At the moment anything but my own car which is getting too fond of going into the garage!

If I wasn’t working for Impact Media, I would be…

Looking to work somewhere as good as here.
