The Elevate Award 2009

Elevate Award winners revealed for 2009

The winners of the this year’s Impact Media Elevate Award have been revealed as Galway’s Tom Hayes of TalentTank.ie and Limerick’s Shane McAllister of MobaNode.

The two entrepreneurs fought off very strong competition from some of the best entries the competition has seen in its four-year history. The winners will each receive a business-booster prize worth €60,000 – including marketing, PR and design services from Impact Media; press and radio advertising from the Galway Advertiser and the Limerick Post; print services from Castle Print; photography from viewmaker and legal advice from RDJ Solicitors.

Mobanode Limerick Winners

Tom Hayes impressed Galway judges Pat McDonagh of Supermacs, Tom Murphy of Total Shaving Solution and Niall McGarry of Impact Media with his novel approach to the Recession. His unique online bulletin board TalentTank.ie links people who are looking for job opportunities with employers who need fresh talent.

MobaNode’s innovative mobile marketing services made a huge impression on the Impact Media chief and fellow Limerick judges Oliver Maloney of Instore and Michael Kearney of the Carlton Hotel Group.

“Talent Tank and MobaNode are very deserving winners,” said Niall McGarry at the glittery awards ceremony at the Carlton Castletroy Park Hotel. “The standard of entries was phenomenal. All of the finalists including Grab Radio, iBuyVouchers.com, Travelace and Sports Academy International show the kind of entrepreneurial spirit that will get this country back on its feet. We are delighted to be able to acknowledge Tom and Shane and we wish them, and everyone who entered the competition, every success.”
